Friday & Saturday, April 16 & 17, 2010 - DELTA ETA CHAPTER CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION

Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 - 2010 Delta Eta Open
at Tiburon Golf Club, tee-off 12:00 pm

Great Weekend for Delta Eta and the Huskers!

Ganz and Glenn looked great - not flawless - on their respective sides of the ball Saturday night in front of yet another soldout crowd at Memorial Stadium, Bo looked like he wanted find a helmet and issue a few hits of his own at times (some to refs on a few no-calls), and Husker Nation felt a little of that ole swagger return...

The Husker's home opening victory was a perfect cap to a great weekend for the Delta Eta Chapter of Sigma Nu at UNL. On friday, eleven teams hit the links on a beautiful day at Tiburon Golf Club for the 2008 Delta Eta Open (pics to follow soon). Perennial Delta Eta Open competitors Rob Wilson, Dennis Phelps, Rob Mullin and Kirby Smith shot a lights-out 55 to bring home the glory, while Mullin, Zac Gemar, Ryan Lempp, and Kirby Smith took home some nice prizes to recognize their individual efforts. Out-of-staters Tony Miller, Jason Clapper and Eric Barton were notable  players among the field of competitors.

Special thanks to Kyle Miller for all of his efforts to coordinate yet another great Delta Eta Open and Chuck Shanahan for providing complimentary rounds post-play at Two Fine Irishmen. And of course, thank you to all who particpated...We hope you all will join us next year, when we are expecting to move the event back a few weeks to avoid all of the travel conflicts that come with a Labor Day Weekend event.

On Saturday, alumni came to the Chapter House to see the changes, catch up with old friends, make some new acquaintances with alumni from across the generations, and to get ready for the much anticipated head coaching debut of Bo...no disappointments. We had a nice crowd for the event and a steady stream of brothers stopping by throughout the day including, but far from limited to, Don Smith, Jerrid Derr, Adam Westman (congratulations on recent marriage!) and Grant Hoover. Brothers, family, and friends are always welcome to stop by on game days, but we limit events to the home opener and homecoming - just to keep things predictable!

Special thank yous to Brother Ken Meier for providing beverage catering and Jeff Barclay for donating subs from his Mr. Goodcents restaurants for the event.

I'll get some pics posted soon, and look forward to seeing you all at the Delta Eta chapter house for another alumni event for Husker Homecoming! Time TBA commensurate with game time.

We are also looking at having some informal evening and friday afternoon alumni get-togethers in Omaha and Lincoln this fall. So please keep your eye on the Upcoming Events section. And don't forget to share this website with all of the Brothers!

Upcoming features will include: The Infamous Tri-Sig Party of 1960 (build up to the 50th Reunion of the Class of 1960 in 2010) and Whatever happened to the Pigge Dinner?
